Insect Nesting Dolls

Although insects are a critical part of our ecosystem, they face significant fear from humans. I created an engaging toy that promotes insect awareness based on the classic nesting doll formula: "What will I find next?" The dolls are packaged in a flower bud with a viewing window to hint at what's inside. This toy is about opening to discover, and that starts
with the packaging.

Decal

I designed this park decal to include all features, activities, and animals specific to Ochlockonee River State Park. The color palette includes official state park colors and those found in the park's features.

Psychology Stress Infographic

This graphic is for a psychology project documenting high school seniors' biological and neurological stresses and how they can reduce them. As a member of this group, I understand the pressure to succeed and the fear of failure. I used the structure of simple geometry as the opposing force pushing upward towards the darker, complex shapes headed down. It often feels like a battle of opposing forces. The challenge is real, and the science is there to prove it. This is art and science together, delivering strong communication.

CAFO

This painting received first place in a literature social commentary competition. It calls notice to the intensive farming of animals for food. It presents chickens, considered a maternal and nurturing animal, in a dramatic visual irony. The top of the painting displays a bright environment, merges into a chicken-crowded center, and works downward toward their inevitable demise. Are these chickens aware of what the future holds for them?

Corey Barksdale Poster

This poster celebrates Black History Month, featuring Corey Barksdale, an African American muralist and Atlanta native. I chose Corey for his graphic, robust art that celebrates culture and community through highly saturated colors and high contrast. I pulled colors from his art and used an expressive font in line with his dark outlines. His art inspires me to create a similar degree of impact through my art.

Accordion Book

Follow the life and death of an apple. Life starts as it grows on its idyllic sustainable farm, where it is grabbed, sold, bagged, and brought to its tasty downfall as a delicious apple pie.

Likes

Likes and dislikes on social media were intially intended to promote content. However, the outcome has been proven to have a negative impact on mental health. Dislikes can be used for harassment and encourage toxic behavior.

Bird & Bug

In Bird and Bug, the bird is defined by its familiar and distinctive motion and flight pattern to catch and eat its prey, an airborne insect as viewed from my backyard.
